(1) Read and learn. – 

          Siya used to sell flowers in the day-time. With the money she earned, she purchased food for her little brothers. One day, when Siya was picking some Pansies to sell from her garden, she suddenly became sick. So, she returned home early. 

          In the evening, she was sad as there was a little food for her brothers. The fairy of heaven was observing her hard work and the care that she took of her brothers. So she wanted to help Siya. At night, the fairy came to her garden and watered her flowers with magical water.  

             Next day Siya felt better, she went to her garden and what she saw stunned her. Her garden was filled with blooming flowers. She wondered about who had watered her flowers. Next day when she went to the market to sell those flowers many buyers bought them. Finally, she had plenty of food to feed her brothers.

(a) How did the fairy of heaven help Siya?

Ans: The fairy of heaven watered Siya’s flowers with magical water at night. Next day all flowers bloomed and Siya sold them to get food for her brothers.  

(b) Describe Siya in your own words.

Ans: Siya was a hardworking and caring sister. She sold flowers daily to buy food for her little brothers. She loved her family and worked even when she was sick.  

(c) Why did the fairy help Siya? What do you think?

Ans: The fairy helped Siya because she saw Siya’s hard work and love for her brothers. I think kind people and hard work always get help from others.  

(d) How do you help your brother or sister?

Ans: I help my brother/sister by sharing my things, helping with homework, and playing with them. I also care for them when they are sick.  

(6) Retell the story by changing its end –

       :Next day Siya felt better and saw her garden full of flowers. But instead of selling all flowers, Siya kept some for herself. She made a beautiful garland and gave it to the fairy of heaven to thank her. The fairy was happy and gave Siya more magical water so Siya could always grow flowers and help other poor people too.
